When you are generous, you make a difference. Giving helps the giver and the receiver. Tithing is the donation of ten percent of gross income. Before the law, Abraham paid tithes and so did Jacob. Jesus encourages us to tithe in the New Testament when he says, "These things ye ought to have done." (Luke 11:42).
